Do you currently feel stuck in life? Are you in a place where you don’t want to be anymore? Do you want to create something so much greater in your life?

Hey, it’s Alex Ford here and in this post I want to share how to get unstuck in life by believing in possibilities.

But before I get to that, let me share a story with you.

About 5 years ago, I was living a life that wasn’t fulfilling. I was working a job I didn’t enjoy, I was in so much debt and the only thing I looked forward to was going out and partying with my friends on weekends.

I got to a point where I wanted so much more in life, yet I couldn’t figure out how I could move on from that – I felt completely stuck.

After discovering Personal Development, I went on a journey of personal growth and I started learning how I could create the shift I wanted in my life. Back then, I didn’t believe anything else was possible because I was so “stuck”. I felt like that was it, like there was no more to life; and I certainly didn’t know of any tools or strategies to continue moving forward in my life. But once I got into my personal development journey, I quickly I started learning about the power of believing in possibilities.

When I started learning this, I realised that instead of focusing on my life as if “that’s just the way it is and there’s nothing I can do about it”, I can shift my focus to “what is possible? What can I create in my life?” Once I had this shift, I started dreaming in possibilities like becoming a millionaire, travelling the world and having a thriving business.

So my focus went from “this is the way things are” to “let me dream in possibilities and see what can happen”. When I changed my focus, my life started changing and I was seeing things I had never seen before like new opportunities, new people I could relate to and I also found a mentor. All of this happened because of my change to believing in possibilities.

An awesome analogy I learned from one of my mentors, Shane, says that a lot of people live in the “period or full stop”. You would know grammar; when you write a sentence you close it by using a period/full stop because that’s the end of the sentence and that’s just the way things are. And that’s where I was living in my life 5 years ago; I was working a crappy job and I was in so much debt (period).

When I heard Shane speak about living in possibilities, he said to take away the “period or full stop” from your life – from seeing things as “this is just the way they are” – and replace it with a “question”. For example, you might say “I’m broke (period). That’s my life and there’s nothing more to that (period). I’m broke and I have to settle for that (period).” However, that’s not going to allow you to think about possibilities, what else you could achieve and actually go and create that. But by taking away the period or full stop and putting a question mark at the end of “I’m broke (question mark)?”, that will automatically open up possibilities for you.

Let’s put this into practice…

Instead of saying “I’m broke (period)”, you can say:

“I’m broke (question)?”
“But do I have to be broke (question)?”
“Could I achieve a lot more out of life (question)?”

And then you can start looking outside of yourself and asking questions like:

“I might be broke, but is there other people in the world who were once broke but ended up creating financial success (question)?”

Have you noticed yet that, by changing the way you think, you’ve gone from living your life in the “period or full stop” to living in the “question” and in possibilities of “what is possible in my life?”?

When you get to the point where you’re living in possibilities, you’re going to start noticing so many things in your life, like new opportunities and new people who will support you in moving toward the life of your dreams.

The question I want you to take away and ask yourself is: “Am I living in the period or full stop of my life? And if I am, what can I do to start living in the question, or start dreaming in possibilities, so I can create the life I want?”

For me, making the shift to living in the “question”, allowed me to find everything I needed to start moving toward the life of my dreams. If you’re reading this post, it’s highly probable that you too asked a question like “I wonder if this article can teach me how to get unstuck in my life?” Am I right?
